Saturday, June 30

Hello Friends! It's Tomara! We spent our day visiting the sites of New York. We left Rutgers this morning at 6:40 to catch the train to New York. We are doing our "adventure" part of this trip on the front end of the mission trip this year. I felt like I was in the Amazing Race today. That show may not be as easy as I thought it was before today!

It was great to see our group share the love of Christ even when we were in New York. I was touched as I saw a student praying as we watched a young lady have a mild seizure waiting for the subway. I was blessed by a man named James waiting for the subway who asked me to pray for his health. God is at work all around us! HE NEVER SLEEPS. I would love to have Jesus as a chaperone on my youth trips!

We will be worshiping at Vineyard Community Church tomorrow. During the afternoon and evening we will be preparing for the week ahead.

Our days of work start early on Monday morning. We begin each day at 7:45 with Devotion and Worship. Beginning at 9 a.m. we'll be working at 6 different camps for grades 1 through 8. We'll have between 40 and 100 kids in each camp. This is a great opportunity for many kids in Camden to learn about Jesus through Recreation, Crafts, Bible Stories and other activities. During the afternoons, we will be doing work projects at the Camden Forward School. We are blessed that God has invited us to be a part of Urban Promise!

FYI - The pics on the site are of the Rutgers Dorm, the view from our rooms, Amanda Cotton and the Seniors, and some students asleep on the Subway today! :)

We exist to GLORIFY GOD in all that we do. Please continue to pray that PEOPLE will be saved from their sin and that God will be glorified in all we do and say! Thank you in advance for your prayers!

Students will be writing on this blog throughout the week!

God's blessing on all y'all.

Be sure to bring HC back intact--he's got to cater our wedding in 19 days.

Isn't modern technology great? I enjoy reading your comments and seeing photos from this year's youth mission trip in this blog. May you continue to feel and see God's presence at work.
